Did you know that 1/3 children in Austin under the age of 18 who have at least 1 immigrant parent? We believe this emerging generation are the multiethnic bridge building leaders the future church in North America desperately needs.
We invite you to grow as a leader or invest in this generation by coming or bringing with you a 2nd generation or 1.5 gen youth or young adult (ages 16-29) to one of the following events at our next generation weekend in March. This weekend will help you develop a vision for the global church and integrate and understand your own identity as a bicultural leader. We’ll also discuss intergenerational blessings and challenges in the immigrant church and what it looks like to follow Jesus when you live between two worlds. We'll have Ethiopian 1.5 and 2nd Gen young adults coming from our sister network in Phoenix to be with us and will be bringing together youth and young adults from different cultural/ethnic backgrounds in Austin. Some of our events over the weekend:
Intergenerational Blessings and Challenges Roundtable at Ethiopian Evangelical Church (Sat, March 16th, 12-2pm), 305 Deen Ave, Austin.
Next Generation Worship Night and BBQ (Sat, March 16th, 6-8:30) at the Van Allen home: 601 Ambrose Drive, Pfulgerville.
On Sunday we'll likely be visiting Austin Chinese Church’s English service at 9:30 and Higher Transformation, a Haitian ministry seeking to raise up the next generation of Haitians in Austin.
